Radar Detector problem

hey
i am trying to help my roomate, he has a VECTOR 945 that he bought little over a year ago. it worked fine but last week all of a sudden the sound stopped working completely, so now you have to physically look at the radar to see what band is flashing.

anyone know if we can open it and fix it ? and what to look for ?

I would look for....a good deal on a new one. More than likely your roomate left it in the window all the time (or more times than not) and the weather got to it. Heat, cold, heat, cold....this is the #1 cause of breakage. Tough to fix.


I know the 985 isn't cheap, but I doubt you can fix it, and no one else will for a reasonable amount of money.
