Does anyone know if the infrared shielded windshield on the 2001 7 series affects the detection capability of a radar detector? I know there is a shield cutout in the bottom center of the windshield, but I prefer to mount my Passport 8500 at the top of the windshield where it is more out of sight and closer to 12 V DC access.
passport isnt that great... go check out the Valentine 1, there is info on their website about the effectiveness through the glass, there is no effect on my car (325), it still picks up cops on the highway over 2.5 miles away
