yes you can use any changer , bmw ones are a straight fit and no modulator needed. but if you get say a kenwood or alpine cd changer you may need to run new wires and need a fm modulator to get things to work.
oh, just my 2 cents, Do not use FM modulator unless you REALLY have to!
Not only are you simply boradcasting FM, but the quality goes down and in some cases nullifies the point of getting an upgrade.
If you do get one, make sure you know its a good one.
bitcore are you sure about the quality thingy ? cuz i dunno my friend used to have that system in a SEAT TOLEDO car.. but she had like 8 spkrs and a really smooth sound system... and the quality was greaaaaaat... beautiful sound. i mean i know the spkrs do part of the work.. but i think that the FM mod did a great job !
Keehnel, my advice: (well actually i have Stock radio and the only solution for a changer,i think, is an FM mod) : get it done somewhere they really know how to do it.
Good Luck !
I have a 93 740i and need a changer..The car is pre-wired. What brands will work? Will current units work or do I need to find an old, ou of date unit?
