Putting A New Sq System In An E46 355ci

Hi. First post here. Ok, here are all the issues:

HU: I have an Eclipse 8454 which is an awsome unit, but doesn't want to open correctly when installed in the E46 dash. Unless someone has seen something that works well with a similar unit, I'll have to get rid of the 8454. My two possible replacements are the Pioneer Premier DEX-P9 with the DEQ-P9 or the Alpine IVA-D300 with the PXA-H701. I hope someone has a good idea for the 8454.

Front speakers: I have an old set of MBQ QM130.03s (5.25" coaxials) that I can use. Does anyone know if 6.25" speakers fit easily into the doors of the E46 325?

Rear speakers: I'm not really planning on using any unless I get the Alpine setup which has DVD. If I do go that route, I can use my old MBQ QM100.3 set (4" coaxials).

Sub: Two JL 10W6v2s on the way.

Amps: Probably a JL 350/2 and a 500/1. I'll add another amp if I go the DVD route obviously.


Other questions: How is the SQ of the subs with them in the trunk?

Just had MB Quart 6.25 put in my doors of 1999 328i, and they fit perfectly. I say that, but I had them installed by a sound shop, so don't know if they had difficulty or not, but they obviously fit with no evidence of having to cut or trim.
