While I was installing my new Sony amp into my 528i, my Live wire coming from the battery and the ground touched causing a lot of sparks...the wire coming from the battery is not working anymore and is not transfering any current! I'm new to car stereo so please let me know what I have to do , I'm very worried.....
If there is a fix to this also please tell me how to install it the correct way...
If you installed the wire properly you installed a fuse block on the battery. That fuse is toast. Replace it, and your wire will be hot again. If you didn't install a fuse, I don't know whats wrong.

I didn't install it myself, but I got it installed at a very good place, I'm sure they did it, let me send u a picture....could you point out where it would be
i'll be waiting. It should be a black thing with two thick red wires coming out of it, one end attached to the battery and the other to your power wire.

Your installer should have a lead like ben posted. If you do not have something like that attached to the bat, then the only other thing I could think of is your battery is dead or the wire came loose. Either way, if there is not a fuse, go to radioshack and buy one. They cost about $3.50.

and yes, be very careful not to cross the hot wire and the gound. If you have a fuse block installed, it is best to install the wire without the fuse and connect everything without power, then install the fuse last.
