its not the camera. i have a new 5.0 mega pixel canon, its pretty nice, just no lighted garage when i took the shots, it was pitch black in everyshot, on auto mode

With that being said, those are pretty good pics for pitch black lighting, or would it be lack thereof? Anyway, hope i didn't offend you with the previous comment. Just an observation

if the camera has a manual mode, use shutter priority with 5 sec exposure on 400 ISO and the lowest fstop the lens has. You will get brighter image without the flash.

i know cameras actually, i even have my own canon AE-1, OLD SCHOOL! it takes awesome shots too.
