I havent ever messed with the BT feature of a factory radio, so this is a little beyond my area of expertise. So I am basically taking a guess. I am thinking (at 5:00 in the AM), does it think its muted for some reason?

does anybody know if the sound controls on the steering wheel will still work with an aftermarket deck? do i need a digital harness? will it work even if there is a digital harness?
next question. word on the street is that in order to put subs in the trunk, you actually need to port the trunk, or at least cut holes between the seats and the trunk. supposedly the trunk is air tight, or at least almost air tight.
nice...there's a ski bag panel. i wish i would have known that when i bought a rug yesterday. i'm just trying to figure out if i should install my system. i don't want to screw anything up and i don't want to ghetto-rig anything too badly.
Still slowly pulling all this together with bluetooth can you believe...problem is that I need the oem HU for the bluetooth display but i want the aftermarket HU as it's much better, plays mp3s etc. if i wanted to upgrade the oem HU to do the same it would be too expensive imo. so, im still thinking along the lines of using both (at the moment) ...selling the widescreen as the other parts needed ive discovered to be silly money. i reckon i can reinstall the oem HU in its original place, put the climate control underneath its current position into the sunglasses holder position (as is done with widescreen install) and then put the second alpine HU underneath the oem HU or if it's not deep enough in the glovebox possibly. so to my question ... you said "it is possible" to have two HUs .....
i want the oem HU to work only as bluetooth display and not as a radio, cassette is obsolete anyway. simple enough to hook up both radios to power, ign, ground, ibus, tel on and so connecting the a/market HU also to power, ign, earth, tel on, but additionally also mute and the speakers (via rcas) and the aerial. Then it's a question of connecting the bluetooth module to both units oem HU for display and a /market HU for speakers. only problem with this is ill have radio stations displayed on the silent oem HU but hey.
ok some way down the road. amp works fine. bass produces/shows up rattles in the car/doors though. i have the crossover selectors on off now as i've ditched the sub (takes up too much room in the back) bluetooth is working perfectly and it has voice recognition. the morels produce enough bass for me.
im not completely happy with the sound though and i think it may be the location of the speakers. the rear ones are behind the rear seats and when im unloading the shopping it sounds great but at all other times theyre just lost. would the sound be better if the speakers were higher? also the door card speakers higher somehow (theoretically at this stage) ?
Either that, or you need more power to overcome the distance those speakers are at. They are way farther from your ears than the front ones are. If they sound good, its probably the fact your front speakers are 2 foot from you and the rears are 10 foot. Everything else being equal, that'll make quite a bit of difference. You may just need to amp them up or turn the fronts down.
While we are talking speakers, there is a guy on the thread below that is having problems with his tourer. I was thinking you might be able to assist.
