No Sound

I've finally hooked up the new head unit, and I'm getting power but no sound at all. I've checked the connections and they seem alright. My unit (Panasonic CQHX2083) also has RCA speaker wires but I'm not doing anything with those. I have two leftover wires from the Metra harness, the orange which on the package says illumination, and the blue, that's labeled power antenna. Any suggestions? I sure hope the unit is not defective.

pretty sure that power antenna is the factory amp lead, try pluggin that one in.

Did you hardwire the head unit or use a harness?

At any rate, if it powers up but you dont get any sound, it is because the factory amp is not turning on.

Like killfox said, check the lead feeding your oem amp. It should be a similar colored wire (blue/white or solid blue). IF you make sure this lead is properly connected and you still don't get sound, try the power antenna lead. It's one of the two, either should work....

Thanks guys. Problem solved. I needed to connect the power antenna wire from the Metra to the amp wire from the radio harness.
