No AM reception in my E39.

Does anyone know if there is a separate antenna for AM. My reception on AM is non-existent, but FM is fine. Does anyone know how I can check the antenna connection, or any other suggestions? TIA! ghead

Do you per chance have tint on your car? I know that certain metallized tints will absolutely destroy AM reception.

As a matter of fact I do. I sure hope that's not the problem.

its quite possible. However, if you can connect the film to the antenna and ground it to the car, the entire window would become an antenna.

Then again, thats just an off the cuff theory and don't know if it would work.

Maybe I should just use a coat hangar as an antenna.

did anyone see the old SNL bit about the car that looked like it was gheto trash. but on the inside it was all leather and super nice.

the out side had a retratcting coat hanger antena. Bullet holes. rust spots, and the windows had fake pictures of a bad interior on them. When the alarm button was pressed the car kinda droped like a tire fell of or suspension was shot... Sorry the coat hanger antena made me think of it.

Kia, i think, has the best commercial ever. Its a guy walking out to his car that looks like shit and has a donut. Body panels are all mismatched colors. Well then he walks up to it and its a car cover.

Prez: I saw that commercial the other day and it made me think of that SNL skit!! How ironic is that. Great commercial though, i would love to make commercials for a living!! :P
