I've just bought myself a 318iS coupe - AC Schnitzer modified, which im wanting to put an Install in it. - starting with the PIONEER AVIC-X1 Nav/DVD/cd

Can anyone tell me what sizes the standard speakers are - i think i've got the six speaker set-up, - one in each front footwell, one on each front door and two on the parcel shelf.

i'm also thinking about putting an amp and sub into the boot - can anyone tell me the best sub size & amp size to go for.

thanks.

Would that be E30, E36 or E46?

I have never had an E36 (just a 30 and 46) but I think my advice is pretty much the same. IF the speakers in the doors are the little mmidranges about 3 inches across, disconnect them and forget them. I dont know the speaker sizes in an E36

Get the best set of components for the front that you can afford. Put some in the back if you want but a 200 set up front will walk all over a 100 up front and 100 in the back in the sound quality stakes. Only use components, forget the coax/triax types, leave them for the Citroen Saxo/Chav brigade.

If you have a ski hatch it makes an useful mounting for an alternative sub (pic attached) I hate losing boot space.

Cheers

Question... will the AVIC-X1 work with both Region 1 & 2 DVD maps?
