New & Audio Level Fluctuation - BMW Forum

Hello,

I' am new on the forum and I own a E 46 330 ci Cabrio from 2004 and I live in Belgium.

The car is equipped with a audio GPS/Nav system (not the HKardon one) with a large screen.

The audio level is fluctuating automatically in function of the noise in the car. I screened all the menus and found nothing to disable it. I let it check by a specialist without succes.

Can someone help me.

PS : on the HKardon system it seems that a "automatic audio level" line exists in one of the menus. It is not the case on my audio system.

Hello,

After some investigation, A BMW specialist told me that the audio level fluctuates in function of the speed (not the noise) and that it is normal.

The problem is that he does'nt know how to turn it off.

If this is a function of the radio, there should be an audio section in your owners manual that describes how to disable it.

Same in my dads 530d, also in belgium..

I know that you can disable it, or at least turn it down to a minimum, but i can't tell you what that part of the menu is called, as he replaced the head-unit with an Alpine. But I think is was called something like "speed volume".
