need some help with new Amp and Sub??

today i installed my JL 300/2 amp and my kicker sub, installion was a sucsess but i got few problems.

when the car is on idel and i have some strong bass playing the CD player shut off then on? it will do that for like 2-3 times then it stops.

and when i leave my car off for like an hour or so the battery will die when i try to start it? its like something stays on, i cheaked the amp but i hooked up the remote wire to the CD player, so the amp turns off with the CD player.

and my i got a 1984 318i if that helps.

Sounds like your battery needs to be replaced or you need (i think) a capacitor....

disconnect the amp entirely and see if you still have problems starting your car. if not the amp may not have been going off.

the radio is shutting off at idle because the alternator is not spinning and isn't giving the amp enough juice...the resulting voltage drop kills the cd player.

if the amp turns off then yes, your battery is near dead.
