hey whats up, im new to the forum so i figured i'd start off by posting some pics of my setup (as its the only thing i have done to my car so far). i just bought this car about a month ago, so haven't had alot of time to work on it yet. its a '98 318is.
3 12" alpine type-r
alpine m1001 amp
alpine cda-9811 hu
it hits pretty good, and the overall sound quality is great thanks to the stock h/k setup.
Probably because its a 318is.... I'm not sure if they came with the digit climate control or not... I dont think so though... I'll check one of my friends....

digital was standard circa 1996, regardless of trim.

A lota subz there guy. Too much for me, but rock on And that's a HUUUUUGE amp Man! (says Tiny "E")
I don't think the digital climate control was ever standard on the 318. Only the 325. And if at some point his digital died (which they are prone to do) it was probably replaced with an analog unit...
I dont know. I have heard that the digi climate is rediculously expensive to repair or replace. But honestly, I am not very knowledgeable on the subject matter...
Not only that, but the analog is unit is a lot more reliable. My mechanic told me specifically (when lookin for my last whip) to buy an e36 with the analog climate control because the digi wasn't reliable and expensive to fix.
