My New System

Hey just updating my system and i figured i share it with everyone. I upgraded from 2 12" Alpine Type R subs and a Audiobahn 8002T amp to a 12" Alping X Type and a Hifonics BX1500D amp. I haven't had any past experience with Hifonics but from what i've read on forum boards and auio review sites it is a pretty good quality amp. I'm going to running 1000 watts (rms) at 2 ohms to my 1000 watt (rms) sub. I'll post pics as soon as i get everything installed and cleaned up

HiFonics is VERY GOOD quality

Back in the day {when I was into obnoxious systems] I had a HiFonics Zeus amp that ran 2 12's like they where 4's

That's what i have read-that they are a great brand. I can't believe the prices tho. I didn't see an amp on ebay that was 1000 watts at 2 ohms for under 500 dollars and i only found like 3 of them. I paid 260 dollars for this amp, even if it wasn't the best quality i woulda boughten it just for the price but i haven't heard anything but good stuff about them.

I decided to go with the Alpine 12" Type S Dual Voice Coil sub and have been very happy with it. I'm not sure how the Type Rs compare. Sounds like you got a great amp though. I've been thinking about going to a 2x12 setup, so I'd be interested to hear your experiences with the Hifonics amp.

I had 2 12" Alpine's before my X and i have a buddy with a 12" S Type. Obviously my 2 R's were much better but i unhooked one just for comparison. It's definitely a big step up. I have another friend with the E Type, and i honestly thought that sounded better than the S. All are very good subs but Alpine's sub goes from E Type, S Type, R Type to X Type-X type being the best. But from what i've heard i think the E sounds just as good or better than S. If you are looking to upgrade subs from the S's I would definitely recommend R Types. Or if u got the money the X Type. I'll definitely get the pics posted as soon as i can. The amp is suppose to be here on wednesday or thursday of next week and i'll have it hooked up within an hour of gettin home from school
