Mm Driver For Alpine Head Unit???

Hey guys,

I want to upgrade before this weekend or ASAP to an aftermarket head unit under $350 (non-retail) - $400-500 (retail) that kinda matches my interior of the E46. Please post any recommendations.


To the topic:

I was looking at the CDA-9833 and it says that it is MM Driver (Hard Disk) Ready...
I assume that that would mean that I could add a Hard drive, but where can I find them, how much are they, are the proprietery, and how big can I go???

If i can add like a notebook hard drive or even a 3.5" computer disk that would be awesome.... then I don't need to buy an Ipod.

No one knows the details about this feasture; "MM Driver Ready" ??? used

I dont see the HD unit listed on alpine's website anylonger. it is basicaly another head unit that can be a slave to other head units to just play mp3s via AI-NET or work on its own with an amp. I belive the size was about 13 gig.

I would recommened going with the ipod and ipod adapter.

i concur, the CDA-9855 is a sweet choice. you can find it for $275 by searching alpine 9855 on google. originally was around $350.
