I am having no luck finding a stereo receiver which matches that glow of the interior of my bimmer. The orange glow is something i want to stick with because i think it goes superbly with the black, and i want a uniform color scheme.

If anyone has had any luck fiding a decent receiver which matches the interior color of the car, i'd love to see what you've come up with.

WAIT A SECOND! WARNING! Do not listen to any of the above info.....

Sorry guys, but Blaupunkt sucks and sony is no better. If you want a good deck that matches the oem interior illumination you have three good choices. The following is listed in order of preference:

Nakamichi CD-400 (unsurpassed sound quality, not a lot of features)
Alpine (tough to find with amber illumination but they're out there)
Kenwood KDCMPV5025 (a lot of HU for the money)

All the above are good sounding decks, and can either be ordered with or selected once installed to match the amber illumination. I swear by Nakamichi, but if you want features (Mp3 playback, fancy illumination, etc.) buy one of the other two.

you mentioned the amber illuminated receivers aren't easy to come by, well you are kind of right. I don't think any alpine recievers come in amber. There are only ones that have variable colors and amber can be picked as one of the colors.

Yes, My alpine unit is set to match the amber interior light perfectly! It looks like it was made for my car! When it's dark, it matches better than anyone could imagine. Not only some buttons light up amber, but EVERY button lights up amber. It looks beautiful!

Yeah, go with the new high end Alpine units...match perfect! Clarion is a good one too, has orange display which the alpine does not.

Just check out the Aftermarket HU posts...
