K40 remote mount radar detector

I just got a great deal on a K40 UN700SWL radar dectctor unit from my BMW dealer. Retail was $700 + install but with all my diccounts I was able to get it for $200 but I have to install it myself.

Does anyone else have one of these radar ddetectors and how do you like it.

The K40 is rated highly. I am sure it is a great unit. I sell it, but have no experience with it personally. I will however say the same thing about it as I would any radar detector.

If you are alone on a hwy, a detector will do you little good. By the time it goes off, you are already caught. If you are traveling a busy hwy, the radar shot may bounce off other cars and set off your detector. You slow down, the other cars don't, you win.

They claim that the first hit is bounced back to the cop and gives a negitive reading, also they claim it gives you ample time to slow down. So we will see, if I get a ticket within a year K40 will pay it as stated by their gurantee

but you're still stuck with insurance increase.
