I'm curious, do you see a big difference in the temp of your amp when you go from rap to rock? But seriously, can you adjust the phase of your amp from your deck. Be kinda cool if you can and had some good steady house music or somethin. Always wondered what was correct for my car.
I havent tried rap vs rock with the amp yet but I havent seen the temp get much above 60 yet. Mostly short rides so far. Recommendations for songs to compare?
I can adjust the phase from upfront. levels too. and the cross over, the lowpass filter as well as the subsonic filter and time correction. some other crap too..
I was listening to some Timo Maas today and watched the ampreage rating get to 1.4.
it was more like 13.9 volts. but I haven't turned the sub gain up much past the 5 mark on the deck yet mostly just at 3 or 4. I want to keep it in proportion to the rest of the damn music. I got it to fill in the low end not set off car alarms as I drive by. If I wanted to do that I woulda got a couple of 12s...
Ok so 73.67 watts. The point is that at those levels the amp will not even get warm. Nothing to worry about. It is not about setting off car alarms. It is, however, about ensuring that the amp is properly ventilated. I mean, after playing for 30 minutes at moderate levels that keep your ear drums intact how hot does it get? Is it going to melt a plastic bag or damage a sports bag that is too close and perhaps preventing proper air flow?
I have yet to see it get to 75. but It's been damn cold around here lately. it was 25 thismorning so the amp only got up to 40 something on the 10ish min drive to work.
I will be driving a couple hours north next week and that should give me an idea of how hot it gets for an extended run.
