Just bought 323i with no subwoofer, please help

I'm so happy with my new purchased of 2000 323i 95K miles. Its run really well but music sound really bad. The owner took out the subwoofer and cd changer.

How can I improve the bass sound without spending more than $100? Can I buy any subwoofer and add it in and how?

to install subs you'd need to get an aftermarket headunit which will be over $100 alone. and when you install subs you'll need the subs themselves, a box to put them in, an amp, and wires to run it all. it really depends on how much money you wanna drop for some bass

You can install a sub, it just may cost you more than your budget. They make a piece usually called an LOC (Line Out Convertor). It taps into your rear speaker wires and provides you with one set of RCAs. From there you will need a small amp and sub/enclosure (unless the previous owner left the stock enclosure). Wire it all up and you're done. Or if you dont have an amp already, purchase one with high level (called speaker level sometimes) inputs and it'll take place of the LOC. Make sure it has a low pass crossover for subs. Good luck with your install. Holler if you have any other questions. to the forums BTW...

I will try to find the amp as you suggested and learn to install myself. BTW, do you have any suggestion on the type of amp that would take signal from rear speaker instead of LOC.

I would check a local car audio shop you can trust, or even a Best Buy / Circuit City type place. Both should have a wiring kit you will need (should be 20-50 bucks depending on how big of an amp you get). You will probably get more knowledge from the car audio shop.
