JL Subs

Hey, i have an Alpine MRV-540 4 channel amp that i would like to power a JL subwoofer. I currently have a JL 10W3D2, but i wasnt satisfied with the way it hit the low bass with my Fosgate amp.

In my e46 i am going to get a custom box built in the side of the trunk above the battery, and i want to put a JL 10 in there.

I was thinking a JL 10w6v2, but they are at a minimum $300! Anyone know where to get one cheaper (besides ebay, cuz newer JL subs are hard to find on it).

Or should I just go with a lower JL sub?

glad to help. Hows that amp? I'm upgrading to either an MRV-T420 or the MRD-500 (i think that the model...its the 900W class D monoblock).

I previously had it hooked up to 4 5x8s in my last car, and it performed beautifully. We will see how well it drives a sub, but im sure it will be great.

a 12" sub ina ported box would produce the low end frequencies you are looking for and more.
