Installing amp in E36 - BMW Forum

Sorry for the lame post, but I'm left scratching my head.
Been installing stereo systems in cars for years, but this is my first Bimmer install.
I have a 94 325is. It already has a new HU in it. Now I want to add an amp and subs for a little better sound quality. This car has headers and a pretty healthy exhaust, so all I hear is engine and high end music.
My problem is this.... After I released the HU and started probing for a way to run the remote wire and the RCA's, I'm coming up empty. Is there a trick? Do I need to remove any dash panels?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! I ran out of daylight, so I plan on attacking this thing again first thing in the morning.

Yeah they are a pain. Get a flashlight. Shine it from around the gas pedal up towards the stereo. You'll see the path you need to take. Sometimes you can go up and over the glovebox too, but you have to pull out the OBC to see where you are headed. Both ways are a pain. These cars are built well and dont just fall apart like a lot of the imports do. Hope this helps...

Thanks for the info.
Looks like rain is gonna keep me from making any progress today.
However.... The car is going into the body shop today to be touched up, buffed, waxed, and have a spoiler mounted to it. He's gonna have it for a coupe days. Should look like a brand new ride when it's done.

I finally got the RCA's and remote wire ran today. Took forever!
I actually have to go back in and run lines for a Sirius receiver now. grrrrr!
I ended going through the driver side. Is it possible to run the rest of my cables through the passenger side? Should I or can I remove the glove box and work from behind there?
