HU install 328is

Well im installing an aftermarket HU in my 328is (i think HK system, has the amp in the trunk). Do i need special removal tools, and also is it possible to still use the factory amp in the trunk w/ the afermarket headunit? I remember my old car had an amp for the interior speakers and i used it while using an aftermarket headunit so i was wondering if it would work

No special tools necessary, it's a very easy install. Find a post by ElPresidente, look in his sig, there is a link to a diy.

Regarding using the oem amp, it works the same way you described in one of your earlier cars.

I guess that depends on the headunit you install. I threw in a Nakamichi wiring it that way and it sounds better than I wanted it to. I have all new speakers to put in, but in sounds good enough to just wait until I blow all the oem speakers up before I go through the hassle of changing them out.
