How to Quickly Unlock, Reset and Code your BMW Business CD CD53 Radio
I just bought this February 2006 Alpine BMW Business CD53 unit (with MP3/SiriusXM/iPod/Aux) on eBay and it came in an entirely different language/region setting. Meaning there was no AM at all, the FM reception was very weak with no RDS/PTY and SCAN didn't work.
After doing a web search to figure out what the heck was wrong with my unit I found out that many people come across this same issue with units bought off eBay or online. Up to now there was little anyone did other than return the units or drag their wallets down to the $tealership to get units recoded and reprogrammed.
Lucky for me at a BMW X3 Austrian forum website I came across some vague info on how to unlock these BMW Business CD radios to get production information, reset the Region and fix the Antenna sensitivity among other things.
It is real easy to pull up information like the Production Date and Serial Number of your Radio and also calibrate the AM/FM Antenna Sensitivity as well as other reset features like DSP, -/+ Range etc.
I can't imagine how much the Dealership would charge you for this.
