Hi,

I just bought a 03 BMW 530i from my neighbor. It's missing the battery. I replaced it and
now the stereo asks for a code.

I went to the dealer and they said they're gonna charge me lots of $$$ to get the stereo
out to retrieve the serial # for them to give me the security code.

I looked at the surroundings of the stereo and couldn't find bolts.

Does anyone know how to take the stereo out?

Thanks for any reply.

As Always,
...Robert

On a Mazda 626 I once had, it wanted a code when the battery was replaced but they all came from the factory with the same preset code unless you changed the code. I'll see what I can find out. Meanwhile, I'm moving this to Audio and electronics s where you will get more responses on it.

No need to pull anything out. It's a 2003 Model and it's still under Factory Warranty... Correct? Take it to the dealer and they should get the code out and activate it free of charge.
