hooking a sub amp up in a 97 328is

I know the best thing to do is just to put in another deck and run rcas directly to the amp but for the time being i have a hi-low input inverter to hook up to the rear speakers for the signal. I tried connecting it to the yellow(found out they were the tweeters) and the green wire(should be speaker) and i got no signal whatsoever. What am i doing wrong? Thanks

Hooking it up to the wrong wires, and not enough of them

You the right speaker positive and negative, and the left speaker positive and negative. Plus you have to make sure you are connecting the correct wire to the correct polarity.

which color wires do i connect it to, also is it alright if i put both sets of wires on the left speaker cuz my right speaker wires arent very accessible and its a mono amp.

Rear Right (+) Blue/black
Rear Right (-) Brown/orange
Rear Left (+) Yellow/black
Rear Left (-) Brown/orange

According to the above information. If those colors don't match, just take a look at the speaker connection. The positve plug will be bigger.

And no, it is not alright. You must tap both left and right for propper signal. Tap them at the factory amp though, and it will make it much easier.

my right rear speaker is like totally inaccessible tho, will it make a big difference if i just did it off of 1 speaker.

i just took a really good look at the speakers and i see those colored wires bundled up next to the rear left speaker. For the right speaker there are only 2 green(green/black,green) wires coming out of the amp into the speaker and 2 yellow wires(Yellow/red,yellow) going into the tweeter. Yesterday i tried tapping into the green wires and i got no signal at all.
