HK or Aftermarket ?

Hi Folks,

New to this forum and hoping for a little help if you would be so kind.

I am buying my first BMW, more precisely the company is, and I am considering the HK speaker system. I have not had the chance to listen at a dealer but I'm cautious given less than satisfactory experience with the Bose system Audi fit to A3's (its crap).

This will be a company car so i can't chop it up to fit the best possible system but would I be better off installing an aftermarket system given I will be paying the best part of £1000 by the time I get the autochanger.

Thoughts and suggestions very welcome.

H&K is not worth the cost. A much better sounding system can be had for less without chopping anything up too bad.

I know that better can be had as it is the usual tale of car company adding ludicrous amounts for a few cheap speakers and an amp or two. However, can you point me towards the type of thing people have had done instead?

It is a company car but i do have to pay for the extras unfortunately !
