Help! Need help with aftermarket radio!

Hey Eveyone, Do you need a mounting kit to fit an aftermarket radio in a '99 323is? My local shop that I use just can't get mine right and I think it needs a kit rather than using the existing sleeve that came with the radio. My face won't flip closed when you turn off the car and the fit looks too tight(Shoehorned).

the place you did it must have done a dodgy job, i did it myself for my cd player and it fit in nicely. mine is an eclipse unit.

I have a Kenwood Excelon KMD-X92 Minidisc head unit. The problem is the D Mask flip face mechanism. We were able to solve it though. I also have a Panavice cell phone bracket installed which fits litterally right to the right of the radio. That's what really caused the problem because of so little space to work with. used

and if your 99 is an e36, then you shouldnt need a kit; the sleeve should work fine. My headunit was also a tight fit, but the supplied sleeve worked fine.

If your 99 is an e46, then yes, you most likely need a kit.
