Help With My 95

[Lets Deja Vu]

Just bought it not to long ago, but stereo doesnt work. Had to go to the dealership and pay $50 for the serial code to make the damn stereo turn on. Got it on turn it up but no sound. How would I fix this?

Strange you might want to start checking fuses for the BMW amp. Most of the stock head units send out a pre-amp to the BMW amp which then feeds the speakers. Fuses are the best bet anything else might get exspensive.

Yes fuses and connections.

My amp up and died on me at some point. So I got all new speakers and bypassed the amp. But I also had an aftermarket HU.

My installer was telling me many factory amps don't protect them selfs very well if at all.

The amp is located in the trunk behind the carpet near the strut tower if you need to check connections there..

Unfortunately, the oem deck isn't worth paying $50 to get the code. I would chuck it and add a decent aftermarket deck. For under $200, you can make a massive improvement in your audio system with a new CD player.
