help locked boot!!

Is the glove box unlocked?? if its locked the boot wont open.....one of BM's crazy security gizmo's...

unfortunately, there is no power getting to the locking mechanism, we think the cable has either snapped or been worn by time.
Our only option seems to be to cut into the boot but that is so drastic!

See if a local locksmith can help you at all.

I presume your battery is ok??, if there's no power to the lock it should still open with the key....

thanks for your help. We've tried locksmith, local garage, Bmw dealers and the police. The boot won't open with the key either.

Have you pushed down on the lid hard whilst turning the key, I cant see why the key wont turn maybe try lubricating the lock with some oil on the key and I wasnt joking about the glove box being unlocked, just in case you thought I was...

hooray, just to let you know we eventually managed to get into the boot by drilling a small hole and physically moving the catch. Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be anything visibly wrong.................? but at least its sorted, only took 5 weeks!

Seems like a lot of bother, but glad it's sorted!

I think you need to cut the boot. and even the cables and wires might have broken. you can get it replaced and then check.

I had the same issue but fortunately I solved it with the dealers.
