Having trouble locating a switch?

Hello, Where exactly is the switch that turns the reverse lights on when you put it in the reverse gear. I got power to the fuse box and good fuses, however, when I put her in revers I cannot see a damn thing.. Any help would be great. .. Thanks in advance

It should be on top fo the box, so when you put the shift in reverse it hits a gate switch, to find out you will have to remove the boot around the shift, select rev and you should see/hear the switch click.

so if I take out my shifter boot it should be easy to see ? has anyone ever changed this switch?

The switch is located on the Left hand (Drivers side depending on country) side upper rear of the transmission

on the e36 it is easyer to get it from below the car...
