I was unable to get the Harmon Kardon sound system with the option package I chose for my 2005 325xi, and I'd like to add a sub to the factory system.

I was told the HK system has two subs? Where are these subs located with the factory system? While I want the sub, I don't want to sacrifice 20% of my trunk space with the box that'll be necessary to hold a 10 or 12 inch sub. I'd like to try and install it in the same way as the HK system, if that's possible.

If someone out there has the HK system, can you post where the subs are located?

Is the JL Stealthbox something I should look into? Anyone have experience with those?

go with a stealth box, with a single 10 or a pair depending on how much bass you want, i find the stock stuff to be a big waste of money over how much better and cheaper the aftermarket stuff is.

JL has invested a lot of R&D time into these boxes. They make it fit your car well, look good, and acoustically match the characteristics of your car, and supply the sub with the proper amount of airspace...
