So BMW facotry radios have an anti theft code system right?
Makes sense...
Well I just looked at the radio I took out of my car. It has a code allright. The code in printed on a nice BMW sticker right on the top of the head unit.
Brilliant.
Positively brilliant.
That's like having a doormat at your house that says THE KEY IS UNDER HERE

Yes, you're right. That's a brilliant way to help you remember what the code is.
What doesn't make sense, though, is why whoever sold the car to you (or a previous owner if there was one) did so without telling you it was there. Seems like it was just a careless mistake.

The previous owner never knew it was there. That radio had been in the dash from the day it left the factory to the day I pulled it out last week.
So any radio theif in between who would have grabbed it would have immediately known the code.

The general knowledge that BMW radios have that code is the main deterant. Has anyone ever had his bmw broken into to get the radio here????
Mine came with a plastic card with the code on it, no sticker.

Obviously this was an overlooked detail at the factory. I just find it funny.

Whoever I sell it too will be unable to lose the code now. haha
It's probably better this way. I mean it's impossible to lose the code on this, and who's really going to try and steal a tape deck in 2004 anyway?

If it was an 8 track, I could follow your logic.
Those are kick ass.
