Front Door Panles With Airbags

I'm thinking of replacing all the speakers in my 2004-325i.....Really would like a better sound. I'm all hyped because i'm a "do it myself type of guy", then i realized while driving home one day, my front doors have the airbags. Will removing the door panels affect the airbags at all....really don't want them deploying on me...it would be costly to repair and set me well back on getting my project done....

Any response would be greatly appreciated....

Not a problem, the airbags stay on the door when the panel is removed.

I had a little trouble figuring out where all the screws were, so you might want to check out this picture. The screws are hex heads and you'll probably want the T-handle style driver since some of them are deep.

A previous mechanic had already scratched up my doors (probably replacing a window regulator), but the panels are easily removed by prying up on a corner using a large flat-blade screwdriver wrapped in a towel.
