I got my hands on some components and i think it came together
nicely...
2, 12in Rockford Fosgate Punch Series 2 Subs
Lanzar
1600watt Amp (Bass Boost Control)
Sony Xplode CDX-M9905X- Amazing radio functions:
32,000-color TFT (thin film transistor) display shows off stunning, full-motion, photograph-quality images and animations
23.2 watts RMS/52 peak x 4 channels
CD frequency response 10-20,000 Hz
MP3 CD Loads of fun
DVD player wired into radio to watch movies in radio face
Works out well because it dosen't clutter up the dash and still clear enough in back seats.
The setup I put together, speaker ports, stained wood, carpeting, I'm no superstar but i'm happy with it , i'ts amazing what a few trips to homedepot can do. Anther good thing is the entire structure grants access to the spare tire. Sounds great with factory speakers too, although i'm sure i'll upgrade.
the subs and all look nice for a do it yourself job. the head unit however doesn't really seem like anything you'd want to watch a dvd on, but it is fun t say you can do.

You do know that your system would sound 3 times better if you had the subs facing the opposite way. I've tried both...so much more bass facing out...rather than in.
Originally posted by El Presidente@Dec 3 2004, 11:00 AM So do you have fold down seats ot just took out the back all together? I made my setup likes yours too: easy to remove spare if needed.
This is my setup:
Alpine 7894- amber lights, black display, MP3, XM, 60Wx4
Infinity Reference 5002i components
Alpine MRV-T420 (340W RMS@ 0.3%THD/700W peak)
Infinity Reference 1230 sub (300W RMS/1200W peak)
SPL 1.5 farad capacitor

Have you ever tried a dual voice coil sub? I wasn't really happy with the bass with a similar setup and replaced my MTX with a dual voice coil Alpine - the thing bumps now.
I have my subs the same way, facing into the passenger compartment, I am running two 10's and I like the way it sounds. I like really tight, tight bass, I would think that having the bass reflect off of the rear deck would muddy it a little. But I am kind of obsessed about the way my stuff sounds and performs.
Really nice looking setup by the way. Are those tweets built into the box or are those ports with a cover?
