Factory Amp

My 735il has no sound. is it worth looking for an OEM amp or should i just replace the original head unit and amp with aftermarket ones?

I'd replace. The age of the components and what little power they give isnt worth the price you will pay for it. You can toss an aftermarket headunit in there that has more power, probably mp3 player, cd player, etc.
