E60 545i Radio RDS no station names displayed

BMW Business radio.

When listening to a radio station with RDS signal, on the top level iDrive menu it shows the station name. When I go into memorised stations or autostore stations it just shows the frequencies. If I pick one of the stations and click "save" it changes from showing the frequency to showing the station name. I drag and drop the station name into one of the presets and it reverts to just showing the frequency.

I know the RDS signal is being received o.k. because the station name gets displayed on the top level menu and when you're saving stations.

Cannot figure out why it's not showing me station names on the list of presets. I'm in an area of strong radio reception so it's not that the signal is weak.

Have hunted for some kind of disply option that toggles the display between showing frequencies and station names - or turns RDS on/off. I cannot find anything in any of the audio or display menus.

Help! What am I missing?
