Am fitting the sony XM423 amp with a special BMW cable to a 2004 E46

How do I remove the factory head unit ?

Been told the best place for the amp is above the glove box, how do I drop down the glove box ?

ok. i figured it out.

it's pretty simple actualy.

locate the trim over the headunit and follow to where it ends at the steering wheel. about an inch from where it ends, put a flathead screwdriver between the leather and the lower part of the trim and push down, forcing the trim out. all it does it attach with metal spikes into the dash. you have to do this all the way from the steering wheel to the passenger door.

once the trim is off you can see the 2 screw that hold the cover to the HU in place, just take thoes out and pull it twards you and the whole HU assembly slides out.

it's that simple.
