| ok. i figured it out.
it's pretty simple actualy.
locate the trim over the headunit and follow to where it ends at the steering wheel. about an inch from where it ends, put a flathead screwdriver between the leather and the lower part of the trim and push down, forcing the trim out. all it does it attach with metal spikes into the dash. you have to do this all the way from the steering wheel to the passenger door.
once the trim is off you can see the 2 screw that hold the cover to the HU in place, just take thoes out and pull it twards you and the whole HU assembly slides out.
it's that simple.
