Trob is an unknown quantity at this point
e46 cd chander to and e36

I bought a 6 disk cd changer from a friend. It is the stock unit that came from his e46. My e36 came pre wired for a cd changer but the wire I found in the trunk doesn't match the cd changer. Is this right? Is their any kind of adaptor? It also came pre wired for an alarm so I'm not sure if I have the right wire.

they changed formats around 92-94. the older ones work with older cars and new w/ newer. unfortunately there isnt an adapter. you would have to get the radio and the cords necessary to make it work with your car. yours probably has a round 13 pin cable, and the newer one is more squarish. hope that helps...
