The amp is stock on the HK and premuim sound package. It is not part of the basic system.
It should also be noted, almost all 325s/328s had premium sound standard. The basic system is mostly seen in the 318, which lacks a tweeter in the rear pod and 3.5 in the door, although I have seen a handful of 325s/328s with the basic.

Cool cool. I pulled my trunk apart today to look, I have an amp too, wow. Its in a terrorible place tho, as now my driver-side rear speaker pod won't clip back in cuz the amp is in the way now, somehow. No worrys, I'm replaceing the shitty stock speakers anyways.
Any recc. on what sizes of rear speakers I should get? I would like to use the stock covers but well I may not be able to. I think I'll have to modify the door speaker holes somewhat at least because I am planning on 6"/4"/1.25" for my front speakers..
If you want larger speakers ip front, buy some q-form kick panel pods. They replace the kick panels and have two pods in each enclosure; one for a 6.5 and one for a tweet. Both angle the speakers toward the driver.
Besides, you would not be able to fit a speaker than size in the door, unless you never wanted to roll down the window again. Plus, if you ever upgrade to an afternarket HU, and don't add an extra amp, then the door speakers won't even work. Not much point in upgrading them.

I'm not upgrading HU's, I'm going HU-free. I have a computer in my car, runs my music (3900 songs at last check) and movies (50 in car, another 100 at home..) and navigation. How big are the speaker "holes" in the doors? And what is the normal BACK speaker that is used?
