Distorted Video and sound

Hey all,

I have a Pioneer AVH-P5700 unit, with an LCD screen and when I hook it up via RCA (red, white, yellow) input to an Xbox or something, there's lines that go down the screen, kind of distorted with the sound having buzzing sounds. I am running an Xbox as a Car PC, and it gets power from a power inverter from the cig lighter that gives about 150 watts or so... now I hooked up my video camera which runs off of batteries, everything is perfect. So it must be the power right? If it is the power, what power inverter do I need for the audio/video signal to be clean? Is there anything I can do with my current setup to filter the power or whatever? I am no car electronics expert, just know computers.

Thanks,

Mike

Park your car in the driveway, run an extension cord out to the car and plug the power into the Xbox, instead of using the inverter, and see if the lines go away. If that makes the video clear (im guessing it will) buy you a really long extension cord and be careful making turns so you dont run over the cord....or take your inverter back and get a new one, its the culprit, check to see also if running the power straight to the battery instead of the cig lighter helps, I'd be curious.
