what do u guys think about Clarion's DXZ845MC HU? I'm really decideing between that one and a nakamichi CD400. I'm looking for a deck that will not only match the illumination of my bmw, but factory look as well, and I think both of these come close... what do u guys think quality wise?

Both are good companies. But the two head units serve different purposes.

The Clarion would be a great choice for someone that burns a lot of CD's (and writes MP3 and WMA data to them), and likes flashy ergonomics. If you would wrather have the ultimate in sound and build quality, and something that looks good enough yet simple enough to be confused for oem; buy the Nakamichi.

I actually have components manufactured by both companies in my car, so you can bet I like either.

I have the DXZ845MC head unit, and the only thing I don't like is the display is sometimes hard to read in direct sunlight. Other than that its a great unit.

I have pictures of it installed in the sticky post at the top of this forum.

was it pretty easy to install your clarion deck, or did you have someone else do it.
