cd player for an e36

hi,
what do i need to get a cd player in my car. i have only a radio and cassette. i dont want to spend too much or want anything fancy, just something basic. i heard bmw amps dont accept those regular alpine cd players and stuff, so then u need new amps.

You may need to bypass the amp, but not likely.

To install a new HU uou need to remove the old one, as detailed in my sig, and purchase an adapter harness and antenna adapter.

As for replacement head units, spend a little money. If you don't have $200 to spend (on everything including wiring harness, connectors, tax, etc.), wait until you do. A $180 deck is TONS better than $100 deck. Check out offerings from Alpine, Kenwood, and Pioneer. Crutcfield.com may give you some ideas.
