| Well, when I got my cap the first thing I realized was it looked bigger than I expected. Sure enough, it was about a quarter inch too long to mount on the side of my box. So, now I had to figure a way to mount it within 18 inches of the amp, which is the maximum reccomended distance for it to still be effective. After staring at my truck for awhile, I happened up my old CD changer mount. I sold the changer to a guy I work with, but I kept the mount because it woulnt fit in his car. So I took the mount out, played around with it, and decided to make a custom mounting platform using the factory brackets. I used a peice of MDF from homedepot to make the platform and covered it with leftover carpet I had from the box. I used a dremel to cut off the lips on the brackets to ensure a flush fit, and finally measured and aligned everything properly on the MDF and viola: a cap mount Here you can see the cap attached to the platform before being installed in the car:
