bypass factory amp??

i have a 2000 323ci and ive just upgraded my head unit to a double din unit. it has 50x4 watts for power on its own, would bypassing the factory amp make it any lounder or does the factory amp put out more power than that. if bypassing it would work how would i go about it...any help would be appreciated, thanks guys
