Bmw E36 Cd Changer

Hi guys!

I have a 98 318i with a tape drive and a 6CD changer in the trunk... I just went to a Car Audio shop and the guy told me that I would lose my CD changer if I was upgrading the CD player for a Clarion...

There is absolutely no chance that I can keep this changer???

Second question: Is a good Clarion CD player will sound better than the stock radio I have?

No and yes.

No, there is no way to keep your oem changer when going to an aftermarket HU unless the aftermarket HU is manufactured by the same company as the changer.

And yes an aftermarket generally sounds a lot better than an oem head unit. I will say that the oem system in most Bimmers is quite good. Definately better to replace the stock deck though.

Thanks for the answer... I'll see how much is the Nakamichi in-dash Cd-Changer... If I sell my oem cd changer and my tape radio, I will probably be able to buy this (hope it's not like 2000$).
