Bmw Dvd Entertainment Package

Hello all i just purchased a used 2001 X5, it has installed a BMW(alpine) overhead display and a dvd player(alpine dva-5205) in the trunk area. Does anyone know if the player can be controller with the BMW head unit? Or am I missing the remote. It plays the dvd but I can't get it to play. I just got it yesterday and have not contacted the dealer to get more info.

Unfortunately your oem deck won't control the system, you should have a remote for it though. If you can't find it, Alpine will gladly sell you another.
