I bought a brand new sub and when i hooked it up to my amp, my amp blew up.I have never heard the sub make noise and i'm starting to wonder if maybe it's the sub. The amp should not have blown, it was hooked up right and everything shoulda worked-but it blew. I hooked it up to my buddies amp and the status light went from blue (working) to red (not working). However that friend just blew his sub and doesn't know whether the amp got messed up too or not. So i don't really know whether i just haven't hooked it up to a good amp or if the sub is fucked up. I'm gonna try hooking it up to another amp today after school and if it doesn't work with this one i'm positive it's the sub. I hope the warantee is still good
Man, I'm really not trying to bust your balls, but after two amps, it's time to go to a professional.
What you should have done was guaged the impedence with a multimeter. If the sub is blown it will give a fall reading, and you know the voice coil is done.
