im gonna be having some stealthboxes installed in my ride pretty soon and i was looking to have a JL 250/1 amp to power them however it seems pretty pricey considering its just about what i paid for the stealthboxes. I would have liked to have kept everything JL but im trying to find a cheaper option as far as the amp goes. If i go with something else will it cause a decline in sound quality or performance in my system? Also what are some less expensive 250/1 amps that are good quality? One last question I found an Alpine amp that was 300/1 and was still cheaper, could i use this and just keep the power down somehow, since JL recomends a 250/1? What are my options...please help trying to have my new system up and running in the next week or so!

Don't really understand the question. DO you mean will it sound bad if you buy an amp by another manufacturer other than JL? IF that's your question, then, no, it won't.

As for buying a bigger amp than necessary, you won't hurt anything there either. Contrary to popular belief, GENERALLY SPEAKING, you blow a sub from a lack of power, not too much.

yeah basically i was wondering if there would be any advantages in sound quality by using all JL components as opposed to using a different manufacturer for the amp. i was thinking about getting the alpine cuz i have heard some pretty good things about their products
