Aftermarket Alpine + Steering Wheel Controls

What (if any) products are available that would let me maintain the use of my steering wheel controls with an aftermarket Apline head unit (would be an AI-Net model)? I have a 2002 325i E46.

Well, what do you think about this adapter at the Alpine-Europe site? I've e-mailed customer support at the site, but I haven't heard anything back yet. And it appears I can only buy it from a European seller. Crutchfield doesn't carry it, and Alpine USA tech support has never even heard of it. Do you think it would work?

One thing I have decided is I *don't* want one of the programmable IR modules...I just don't think I'd like it. I want wires connected to wires.

Any ideas? Anyone?

I've used those IR pieces, they work pretty good. I havent seen that piece you linked to, but it looks like it might work well, especially if you get ALL the controls (most IR pieces get you about 60-80% of the buttons).
