98 323is amp part nubmer?

does anyone know what he part number for the amp is in a 98 323is is? Or what would be a good (cheap) replacement? I think mine in gone, replaced the head unit, still have the same problem. Radio comes on when it wants too, and front speakers sound like crap.

Honestly, I'd go aftermarket. The factory amps really only put out 10-20w per channel, and any decent aftermarket radio will do that if not more. Plus then you'll get features like ipod inputs, mp3 compatibility, warranty, and all in a neat package. Hope that helps...

I'm not 100% sure on the differences, but I am thinking the HK powers 5 pairs of speakers, where yours does 4 pairs. I dont know if they are compatible or not.
